A bit about me

Hi, I’m Sarah—registered dietitian, mom of three, published author, and content creator with over 20 years of experience in the field of nutrition.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences and have pursued advanced training in areas such as Eating Disorders, Intuitive Eating, the Neurodiversity-Affirming Model, and more.

I’m the co-author of the award-winning book Food to Grow On: The Ultimate Guide to Childhood Nutrition—from Pregnancy to Packed Lunches, and the author of the Audible Original course Raising Intuitive Eaters.

Formerly known as The Centre for Family Nutrition, our practice recently went through an exciting rebrand to better reflect our growth and our core values: being heart-centred, family-centred, and client-centred in everything we do.

My approach

You want your child to grow up feeling good about food and their body.

But what if you’re still working on that yourself?

I help parents raise confident, intuitive eaters, while also supporting them in healing their own relationship with food.

My nutrition philosophy is rooted in:

  • Ellyn Satter’s Division of Responsibility in Feeding & Responsive Feeding
  • The Intuitive Eating Model
  • Health at Every Size (HAES)
  • The Neurodiversity Affirming Model
  • …with a whole lot of flexibility and compassion in between.

Meet the team

amanda hamel, rd

Client/Partnership Care Manager

As an introvert, I love working behind the scenes to help make things happen—and that’s exactly what I do on Sarah’s team.

Whether I’m ensuring our partnerships run smoothly, creating resources, or keeping the practice organized, I thrive on supporting our team and bringing Sarah’s vision to life. I’m passionate about making nutrition more inclusive and accessible, always bringing fresh ideas and forward-thinking perspectives to the table.

Outside of work, you’ll find me in a spin or boxing class, spending time with my husband, or recharging with my Himalayan Siamese cat, Ronnie, my introverted soul mate.

Early Childhood Educator, Recipe Developer and Editor

Nicole is a mom of 2 and an early childhood educator in the Greater Toronto Area. She uses her childcare experience to create flexible, child-friendly recipes with food neutrality, allergies & intolerances, and the way the families eat at home in mind, which reduces stress and brings joy to daycare and family mealtimes.

Nicole is thrilled to be a part of Sarah’s team! She brings over a decade of professional experience in recipe development, testing and editing to the team along with a passion for bringing flavourful and achievable dishes to life for busy families.

In her daily life, Nicole is a devoted childcare owner who deeply adores the children under her wing, and a cookbook recipe tester. Her rare quiet moments are filled with a love of books and spending precious time with her husband and sons.

Let’s connect

When I’m not working with families or creating content, you’ll find me in the kitchen with my three kids, testing new recipes, or enjoying outdoor activities in beautiful Calgary, Alberta. I believe in keeping things real, relatable, and always judgment-free.
